Over the years, Ullna has been visited by golf and sports legends, entertainment artists and royals, as well as a U.S. President. Sven Tumba is unique in Swedish sports – a member of the Swedish national teams in football, ice hockey and golf – and one of the country’s most famous ice hockey players in the 1950s and 60s.
After his hockey career, he became a devoted golf player and a golf course designer – as well as a professional waterskier! Sven Tumba was also called ”the Golf Ambassador” when he introduced golf to the Soviet Union and built the first golf course (in Moscow).
In 1981, Sven Tumba had realized his dream to build a challenging tournament golf course north of Stockholm. On August 27, Ullna was officially opened by Sven Tumbas dear friend H.R.H. Prince Bertil of Sweden and soon became one of the premier golf clubs in Scandinavia.
OVER THE DECADES, ULLNA HAS HOSTED NUMEROUS PROFESSIONAL AND AMATEUR TOURNAMENTS.
